Robert Hewitt, ASLA

Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture, Clemson University


Robert Hewitt is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture, with both MLA and MCP from the University of California, Berkeley. He previously taught at Pennsylvania State University, where he led the Department of Landscape Architecture's Rome Program. He currently teaches community design, urban design and site design. His research is on the influence of medicine in international landscape architecture. Publications include the Landscape Journal, the Bulletin of the History of Medicine, the Bulletin of Anesthesia History, Psychiatry on Line Italia, the International Journal of Medicine Online, Landscape Review, and Critiques of Built Work. His professional experience was with Peter Walker and Partners in Berkeley and a wide range of international and North American projects.
